Resume Writing 101
Your resume is what sells you to employers. A poorly written resume won't even get you a
phone interview. Here are some tips for writing a resume that will get you the job you want!
It is good to have your resume available in
multiple formats.  Here are examples:
  • Print Version: Includes bulleted lists, italicized text, other highlights and is
ready to print and mail or provide in person to potential employers

  • Scannable Version: Simply formatted without fancy design highlights.
    Bulleted lists are okay

  • Plain Text Version: Plain text that is ready to copy and paste into online
forms or online resume databases. May be called a "text only" copy

  • E-mail Version: This is also plain text but it is specifically formatted for the
    length-of-line restrictions in e-mail
